Biography:
Ms. Nicholson is a private fractioned and owner of Stella M. Nicholson & Associates, Lombard, Illinois where she counsels Adult Children of Dysfunctional Families, alcoholics/addicts, couples and specializes in the treatment of families and children. She has worked in the addiction and mental health field since 1978.
In addition to her private practice she has served as a consultant and trainer to numerous treatment facilities, mental health organizations and criminal justice systems regarding program development and implication, in-service training, staff development, clinical supervision, and aftercare. She formally was the Aftercare Program Director and Marketing Representative to Cottonwood de Tuscon, de Austin and de Albuquerque.
Ms Nicholson has served on the faculty of numerous universities and colleges such as Felician, Northeastern, Concordia, Triton , Waubonsee and currently is an adjunct faculty member to National Louis University. She is currently a Professional Lecturer for National Louis University and has been employed with them for over 20 years.
She is also the author of two workbooks "Addictions. Relationships and The Twelve Step Connection" and " ACOA Journey To Recovery"
Ms. Nicholson is the past president of the Illinois Certification Board and is still serving on that board. Her background in Human Services and the addiction field have offered a broad educational experience to her students and workshop participants.
