NCE Partnerships
NLU’s National College of Education faculty, staff, and students partner with diverse schools, districts, communities, and education-focused organizations in mutually beneficial collaborations to develop and empower all learners. Whether it’s a brief co-sponsored event or a formal multi-year engagement, our initiatives typically align with one or more of the following shared goals:
- Developing multiple Pathways into Teaching to build a pipeline of diverse, highly effective new education leaders and teachers -- including teacher residencies, alternative licensure programs, and joint degree opportunities with other institutions.
- Connecting students with Field Engagement Experiences, from tutoring to classroom observation to student teaching to our unique year-long internship model, to enrich academic preparation.
- Linking faculty with Field Leaders and Engagement Activities to explore and exchange knowledge and resources that address community-identified needs and ensure our curriculum remains relevant and responsive.
- Providing Professional Advancement opportunities that strengthen teacher talent and cultivate equity-focused leaders to meet school, district, and community-identified needs.
- Advancing scholarship, research, and educator capacity through Grant-Funded Projects that address priority topics and practice areas.
