HLC Accreditation: National Louis University (NLU) is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), recognized by the United States Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program is approved by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation/Illinois Board of Nursing.

The university is seeking accreditation from the American Association Colleges of Nursing – Collegiate Commission on Nursing Education Accreditation. An accreditation visit will be scheduled after students have been enrolled for one academic year.

The School of Nursing is hosting an on-site accreditation evaluation of its baccalaureate degree program by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education in February 2026. As a part of the evaluation process, there is an opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to submit third party comments concerning the program's qualifications for accreditation.
