In this latest candid conversation, we are joined by Drs. Katrice Cotton, Milwaukee Public Schools Chief Schools Administrative Officer, and Karen Tardrew, Associate Professor, Learning Sciences Education Chair, who explore effective leadership in E-Learning environments.

Speakers
Dr. Katrice Cotton is the Chief School Administration Officer for Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS). In this role, she provides support, supervision, intervention strategies, and accountability systems to schools and school leaders to ensure that all MPS students receive effective instruction in safe and supportive learning environments. A native Milwaukeean and a graduate of the Milwaukee Public Schools system, after earning her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, Dr. Cotton returned to MPS to teach middle school. Since then, she has served in various school and district-level leadership roles, including assistant principal and principal before joining MPS's Office of School Administration. Dr. Cotton earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin- Madison. She holds a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from National Louis University, a master's degree in Educational Leadership from Marian University, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from National Louis University.
Dr. Karen Tardrew holds an Educational Doctorate in Instructional Leadership and Educational Leadership. An Associate Professor and current chair of Learning Sciences in Education, in her 28 years with National Louis University (NLU), Karen has served as Wisconsin Academic Director, Wisconsin Academic Coordinator, Director of Teaching, Learning & Assessment, Co-Chair of National College of Education, and Coordinator of Interdisciplinary Studies Program and Coordinator of MAT- Elgin. In 2011, she led the development of the first fully online program at National Louis University. A self-described visual learner and passionate about the impact of images and art in learning and understanding, Karen is the past President and a current Executive Board Member of the International Visual Literacy Association (IVLA). In 2019, she won the Excellence in Service and Engagement award from NLU and IVLA's John L. Debes Award, a prestigious honor awarded to only thirteen scholars since 1977.
