How to Hide Hide or Show an Assignment

Step 1: Access the Assignment Settings

  1. Log in to D2L: Use your instructor account to log in.
  2. Navigate to Your Course: Select the course containing the assignment you want to modify (e.g., the course with "Module 1 Assignment: Programming Problem").
  3. Go to Assignments: In the course navigation bar at the top, click "Assignments".
  4. Select the Assignment: Locate the assignment titled "Module 1 Assignment: Programming Problem" in the list, then click on its name to open the "Edit Assignment" interface.

Step 2: Locate the "Visible" Toggle Switch

  • Once in the "Edit Assignment" interface, scroll to the bottom of the left section.
  • Find the toggle switch labeled "Visible", positioned next to three buttons: "Save and Close" (blue), "Save" (gray), and "Cancel" (gray).

Step 3: Hide the Assignment

  1. Toggle to Hide: Click the "Visible" switch to move it to the "off" position. The blue eye icon will change (e.g., it may gray out or show a crossed-out eye), indicating the assignment is now hidden from students.
  2. Save Changes: Click "Save" (gray button) or "Save and Close" (blue button) to apply the change. If you click "Cancel," the change will not be saved.

Step 4: Make the Assignment Visible Again

  1. Return to Edit Assignment: If you're not already in the assignment settings, repeat Step 1 to access the "Edit Assignment" interface for "Module 1 Assignment: Programming Problem."
  2. Toggle to Show: Click the "Visible" switch to move it back to the "on" position. The blue eye icon will reappear, indicating the assignment is visible to students again.
  3. Save Changes: Click "Save" or "Save and Close" to confirm the change.
